Some interesting tidbits from the NAB website. They now have a sparse
'pirate radio' area under the 'current issues' section. How credible can
an organization be that celebrates hate speech and misinformation by
inducting Rush Limbaugh into their Hall of Fame while also attacking
community radio?  http://www.nab.org

ON RECENT ACTIONS RESULTING IN SHUTDOWN OF
PIRATE RADIO STATIONS IN NEW JERSEY AND FLORIDA

"We are delighted that federal authorities have stepped up enforcement
against pirate radio stations. The NAB Radio Board in June asked for the
FCC to focus more attention on the growing number of unlicensed
stations. We commend the Commission for sending a strong message to
broadcast bandits that their illegal activities will not be tolerated."

"We are extremely disappointed with yet another delay in a case that was
argued 19 months ago. Pirate radio stations are illegal and should be
put out of business."

NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame Award
(Radio Inductee)

The NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame recognizes Radio and Television
personalities or programs that have earned a place in broadcasting
history.

Rush Limbaugh will be the 1998 Radio inductee into the NAB Broadcasting
Hall of Fame. Limbaugh will be honored at the Radio Luncheon on Tuesday,
April 7, during NAB98 in Las Vegas.

In 1988 Limbaugh began hosting his nationally syndicated program for 56
stations. "The Rush Limbaugh Show," now the highest rated radio talk
show in America according to Talkers Magazine, is carried by more than
600 radio stations and is listened to by 200 million people weekly.
Limbaugh also hosts "The Rush Limbaugh Morning Update," a 90-second
daily commentary.

Limbaugh is a two-time NAB Marconi Radio Award recipient for Syndicated
Personality of the Year.
