Free Radio Berkeley was granted a use permit Thursday, May 28th, by
a
unanimous vote of the Zoning Adjustments Board in Berkeley despite
a 98 page
opposition filed by the California Broadcasters Association. The city
attorney tried to attach 14 conditions to the permit, most of which
were
thrown out or watered down by a sympathetic board. Thank you to all
of you
who came and who wrote in support; this is an important precedent for
micropower.
