3/26/98 Jersey City, N.J. Today the FCC busted KMAD, 90.5 FM, Jersey City, New Jersey. The station was run by students and a faculty member of Jersey City State College. It offered an alternative to the insipid programming available from "legitimate" stations. KMAD was receivable with excellent signal reports in most of Jersey City, parts of Bayonne and Hoboken. The control room was constructed predominantly from discarded audio gear from the Media Arts Department. The station offered a regular schedule of programming for over one year.
