Re:      KPFA-Pacifica Dispute

We, the eleven-member Steering Committee of KPFA reiterate our long-standing resolve to enter into mediation with the Governing Board of the Pacifica Foundation over the continuing conflict between KPFA and Pacifica.  Although that resolve was expressed unambiguously more than two weeks ago in a letter dated July 1 to Dr. Berry, the Steering Commitee to
date has not received a response.
 

As indicated in our July 1 letter, the Steering Committee includes representatives from the KPFA union staff, KPFA non-union staff, KPFA management staff, and the community.  The KPFA union staff has designated the Steering Committee as the body that Pacifica must negotiate with.
 

The Steering Commitee will be ready for mediation on Monday, July 19.  We call on Dr. Berry and the Governing Board to
follow through on mediated negotiations to resolve this escalating crisis.
