Jerry Brown c/o We the People 200 Harrison Street Oakland CA 94607
Dear Jerry:
Judging by what I hear via e-mail from Take Back KPFA, it would seem that Pat Scott and the Pacifica Foundation board are trying to justify their union-busting tactics by claiming that their main goal was to increase the station's number of listeners.
I have written to you several times about this with no reply. I hope you do not intend to endorse this justification of the practice of union-busting; it would seem to me that, by your silence, you are doing so by default. Up to this point I would not have thought that you would fall back on the hypocrisy of an "End-Justifies-The-Means" rationalization. There are good, honest workers at KPFK that are facing the Pat Scott juggernaut, and they deserve better treatment. Do you have the intestinal fortitude to "speak back to power," as you recommended on a recent broadcast?
Please advise me of your decision-- because if you can't come out against this injustice, then I would like to cancel my membership in We The People. Unless you can make a firm decision on this matter, these are not my kind of People. I enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope for reply.
Yours truly,
Burton Sukhov
