Pacifica "cancels" KOOP!
KO.OP Radio received a letter from Pat Scott yesterday (Sept. 29, 1997) informing us that Pacifica was dropping our contract for PNN starting in Oct. 1998! That's funny since we refused to sign the contract with the gag order and feel that by trying to force us to sign, Pacifica already dropped us.
Also my information on stations who are struggling with this gag order is somewhat different than the information I've been reading on this list.
My info is this:
WHUS did not sign the contract due to the gag order. They will continue to use the NPR satellite
KBOO has not signed the contract.
KO.OP has not signed the contract
KGNU signed, striking out the gag order clause and the contract was refused.
WORT's contract was also refused.
Syracuse Community Radio was slated to carry PNN but they changed their minds.
WERU has not signed yet.
WTJU will not be airing PNN anymore.
KCMU hasn't carried PNN for some time now.
