Programs mentioning KPFA/Pacifica Crisis Banned!

Los Angeles Pacifica Station KPFK General Manager Mark Schubb pulled the nationally syndicated program from Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, "CounterSpin," off the air Friday April 16. FAIR believes it was cancelled because it contained an interview with Larry Bensky, who was fired by Pacifica the previous week (see FAIR statement below). The program was run at its regularly scheduled time on KPFA, and on WBAI in New York at the time when Bensky's "Sunday Salon" would have been heard.

In addition, KPFK censored a brief mention of the crisis at KPFA and Pacifica from the evening newscast Thursday April 15. And KPFK abruptly cancelled Layna Berman's "Your Own Health and Fitness Show," simulcast weekly from KPFA's studios, after Berman joined dozens of KPFA programmers on the air in asking for public support against Pacifica's arbitrary actions against Bensky and KPFA manager Nicole Sawaya.

CONTACT KPFK MANAGER MARK SCHUBB AND TELL HIM THIS ISSUE OF PACIFICA ABUSES AND IRRESPONSIBILITIES WILL NOT GO AWAY AND THAT LISTENERS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE ORGANIZATION THAT OWNS THEIR STATION AND SPENDS THEIR MONEY!
